Teen Summer Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

In Minneapolis there are various summer job and volunteer opportunities for youth ages 14 and up!

*Step-Up: A youth employment program for ages 14-21 (must be 14 by June 1st) that is partnered with Achieve Mpls, the City of Minneapolis, CareerForce Minneapolis, and Project for Pride in Living for youth living in Minneapolis.

"STEP-UP is a summer jobs program through the City of Minneapolis for Minneapolis youth, ages 14-21.  STEP-UP interns work at Minneapolis businesses and nonprofit organizations to gain job experience, explore career interests, and build professional skills."

Selected applicants are notified the week of February 25th, 2019 that they are accepted into the Step Up program. They then go through training at MCTC (Minneapolis Community and Technical College) in the spring (March/April 2019). After they complete their training they get experience going through interviews. Once they have been placed, students begin their summer jobs after school is out in June and work until mid August typically.
