Teachers Say Goodbye to Seward

Seward Students and Parents,

It has been a wonderful four years at Seward Montessori, but my time here will be ending. I will be starting a new media position at Burroughs Elementary next year. It was a hard decision to leave Seward and the wonderful children and families. However, Burroughs is my neighborhood school and I am looking forward to being able to walk or bike four blocks to my new job.

I leave with fond memories of Camp Read Away, Yearbook, and working with some of the best Specialists ever! I am happy Ali will continue to assist in the library next year. She is very capable and will be a familiar face for students. I hope to stop by next year to check up on the kids and my email will stay the same linda.frederickson@mpls.k12.mn.us

Best of luck next school year and enjoy the summer!

Dear Seward Families,

I wanted to take a moment to say goodbye to all of you. I have really enjoyed making art with your children. It has been a whole lot of fun for me to see them learn and grow- not to mention make lots of creative messes in the art room! I appreciate the way you welcomed me into the Seward community and have been really supportive of the art program here at school.

It is not an easy decision to leave, but ultimately I had to choose what was best for my family. I will be teaching K-4th grade art at Hale Elementary starting next year. My email (kathryn.tharaldson@mpls.k12.mn.us) will stay the same, so still feel free to contact me anytime. I'd love to hear how your kids are doing, or if they continue to pursue the arts in high school and college!

Thank you again, it's been a pleasure working with your kids and being a part of the Seward Community.

Dear Seward Parents,

I have decided to leave Seward and take a break from full-time public school teaching. It has been my privilege to teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade social studies for the past seven years, but after twenty years teaching in Minneapolis Schools the long hours of lesson planning and marking papers have left me wanting more time for my personal life. Seward has been a great place to work – amazing students, an amazing staff, and an amazingly supportive community of parents and families. Among its many other strengths, I will remember Seward Montessori as a community of great kindness. Thank you for all your support!
