Liz Rockman – E1 Teacher Room 110

My name is Liz Rockman. I was born in Minneapolis, and went to public schools here. I spent some of my middle school years in India with my family who were University professors on sabbatical. After graduating from Colorado State University I lived and worked in marketing and advertising in Denver for 10 years. I moved back to Minneapolis to be with my family and was a video and filmmaker for corporations. I had a strong calling to work with children and to teach in the world of Montessori education. I returned to school to get a Masters in Education, and then Montessori training. I was lucky enough to come to Seward. I have been teaching almost 20 years and most of them have been at Seward. I have a grown son (29 years old) who also went to Seward. He is a sports photographer in Minneapolis. I love learning languages. In college I took every language that I could. Then I worked overseas as a nanny to practice them. I haven’t used them lately, so I’m no longer fluent, but I still manage to travel and learn languages here at Seward.
