Bees Visit Class

Bee in Seward Rain Garden - 2013

Third grade was all abuzz on May 24, 2016 when guest speaker Jenny Forster Warner, from the University of Minnesota Bee Lab, came to share her knowledge with students. E1 Science classes have been studying pollinators, their role in food production, why they are in danger, and what we can do to help them.

Numerous students have been involved in designing and planting a pollinator garden outside the school, and others have written to government officials, encouraging provisions that protect pollinators.

The third graders got their chance to view bees up close with Forster Warner, who brought a sealed glass observation hive into the science classroom.
