All in school volunteers need to attend one orientation (in all their years at Seward). This orientation runs around 15- 20 minutes. If these times do not work for you please email Kerry.cashman@mpls.k12.mn.us and we can figure out another time.

- Lunch, help students get their lunches and put recycling and garbage in the right place, and enjoy lunch with your child! The greatest need is for 11:30-12:00 and 1:30-2:00. Sign up on our Volunteer Dashboard.
- Room Parent, this is a wonderful way to get involved in your child's class and help build a community outside the classroom. Sign up to be a room parent at Room Parent Signup Form or contact your student’s teacher.
- Classroom Volunteer, assist in a classroom as requested by the teacher. Opportunities may include: coordinating Scholastic book orders, organizing snacks, compiling Friday folders, making copies, organizing classroom community-building events, helping with classroom materials. Contact your student’s teacher for more information.
- Photographers, take pictures for the school’s website, the newsletter or the yearbook. Contact Kerry Cashman at kerry.cashman@mpls.k12.mn.us for more information.

Ongoing
- Monthly Family Nights, help before or after Family night with setup or cleanup.
Fall
- Fall Family Potluck Picnic, help at the first gathering of Seward families.
- Kindergarten Drop Off, welcome new Seward parents as they drop off their kindergarteners for the first day.
- Picture Day, prepare children for their school photographs.
- Give to the Max Day, help with this annual fundraiser.
Winter
- Read Around, help with this reading fundraiser.
- Book Fair, help set up this fun event where we recycle our used books, videos, music.
- Art Show, setup and display students’ art for all to see.
- E2 Dance, help plan for this event for 4th and 5th grade families.
Spring
- Plant Sale, the Spring Plant Sale volunteers are involved with sorting and labeling plants for pickup by the buyers.
- Kindergarten Registration, welcome incoming kindergartners in May.
- Spring Event, assist with planning and carrying-out our school’s biggest social event in May.
- Staff Appreciation Luncheon, coordinate the end-of-the-year luncheon for our fabulous staff.
- 5th Grade Graduation, help the graduation run smoothly.
- Picture frames and lamps in good condition
- House plants in need of new homes
Bring these items and any other donated items to the main office.
Various opportunities come up during the year that can be done from home and in off-hours. Right now we're looking for a parent who can help with the school yearbook this year. Email volunteer@sewardmontessori.org if you are interested.
