Let your trash become Seward Montessori cash, all while reducing landfill waste! “Trash4Cash” is Seward’s collection of recycling programs that turn everyday items that are not normally recyclable into cash and cool stuff for our school. Please bag these separately if possible so we don’t have to sort them. Here’s more details & what items you can drop off at our Trash4Cash bin in the Main Office:

• Food Pouches: Any brand of (empty) flexible plastic snack pouches and caps are accepted!
• Drink Pouches: Aluminum and plastic drink pouches (no need to remove the straws)
• Personal Care & Beauty Items: All brands of skin care, hair care, and cosmetic packaging.
• Lip balm tubes & caps, soap dispensers, body wash/lotion/shampoo/conditioner dispensers and caps, hair gel tubes, hair spray triggers, lipstick/lip gloss cases/tubes, mascara tubes, eye shadow cases, powder/bronzer cases, foundation packaging, eyeliner cases & pencils, concealer tubes/sticks, and lip liner pencils.
• Gerber Recycling Program: Gerber baby food packaging, such as flexible or rigid plastic packaging, shrink labels, plastic containers, plastic lids, flexible plastic pouches, and small and large hook Gerber baby clothing hangers.
• Oral Care Recycling: All brands of used or empty toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste cartons, toothbrush outer packaging, and floss containers NOTE: Electric toothbrushes, battery toothbrushes, and/or their parts are not accepted for recycling through the program.
• Electronics
• Cell phones: All working & non-working (but not significantly damaged). Battery, charger, cases are not collected
  
• Inkjet Cartridges: Should fit in palm of your hand (no laser or toner cartridges accepted).
• iPads, smart watches, other electronics: please email to check if item is accepted before dropping off.

Some items are still recyclable in our curbside recycling in Mpls. Do not send in any glass, basic #1 and #2 plastics (such as plastic lids and containers), aluminum, or any other municipally accepted recyclables.

Other easy ways to support Seward

• Box Tops for Education: Download the Box Tops for Education app and select Seward Montessori as your school. After a shopping trip, go to the app and scan your store receipt. The app will confirm your purchase and add 10 cents to the Seward Montessori account for each eligible product you have purchased!
• Amazon Smile: Shop via smile.amazon.com and designate Seward Montessori PTA as your charity!
