Families

Parent and Family Involvement

Seward Parent Teacher Association

We are a volunteer parent-run organization that works to strengthen and support education and community at Seward Montessori. We meet every month in the evening and have lots of other ways to get involved.

Seward Site Council

MPS schools with Title I funding are required to have a Site Council. Seward's Site Council includes parents, staff, principal, and assistant principal. The purpose of the group is to support school-based policies and the School Improvement Plan. Seward's Site Council typically meets the first Friday of the month at 8 AM. Meetings are open to all and voting is limited to site council members. The Site Council chair, Katie Nissly can be reached at sitecouncil@sewardmontessori.org.

Seward Roundtable

Once a month we hold a Seward Montessori Roundtable to update families and share information from Principal Ana, Site Council, PTA and other staff. All families are invited.

Volunteering

There are small and large, daytime and evening needs. Many volunteers are needed to tutor students, work in the media center, chaperone field trips, fundraisers (Give to the Max Day, ReadAround, Spring Plant Sale) and help with family events (Sept Family Picnic, and Spring Family Event).
