In Minneapolis there are various summer job and volunteer opportunities for youth ages 14 and up!
*Step-Up: A youth employment program for ages 14-21 through Achieve Mpls (must be 14 by June 1st)
"STEP-UP is a summer jobs program through the City of Minneapolis for Minneapolis youth, ages 14-21. STEP-UP interns work at Minneapolis businesses and nonprofit organizations to gain job experience, explore career interests, and build professional skills."
Selected applicants go through training at a local high school in the spring. After they complete their training they get experience going through interviews. Once they have been placed, students begin their summer jobs as early as June after school is out.

*Teen Teamworks: A youth employment program for ages 14-18 through Minneapolis Parks and Recreation (must be 14 by June 1st)
“Position: Teen Teamworks Youthworker. Duties: To perform the following tasks working as part of an eight to ten member work crew under the daily supervision of an adult on-site supervisor to complete: park maintenance work, building maintenance, neighborhood maintenance, attend trainings, and other duties". Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board
The program begins in June and ends in August.
