Have you noticed the new “pedestrian paddles” on the corner of 22nd Street E and 29th Avenue S (the northeast corner of the school)? The need to improve the safety of this intersection was brought to our attention by Seward parents and students. Since we were unable to get a crosswalk marked this past fall, we arrived at this solution.
Volunteer help will be needed to make sure they are put out in the morning and brought in after school. The paddles are stored in the school and a cart is available to help move them in and out. Please see Linda Fish in the Seward office if you are able to help. (In the
interest of safety, we are asking for an adult to place and retrieve these.) Please note that these signs are supposed to stay out all day.
Please do not move them in or out without talking to Linda Fish in the school office.
If you have any questions or suggestions for improving bike or pedestrian safety at Seward Montessori, please contact Matthew Hendricks at email@example.com.
Our Safe Routes To School Committee continues to meet every Wednesday morning in the school lunchroom from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Anyone is welcome to attend.
