As a speech-language pathologist, I get to work with students who have a wide range of communication needs. This most commonly includes helping students articulate specific speech sounds, but also includes teaching stuttering management and speech restructuring to kids who stutter, facilitating social communication skills in students with developmental disabilities, and improving kids' ability to comprehend and use language to communicate more effectively with others and acheive success with language-based schoolwork. Every student I work with has a unique set of needs and circumstances and one of my favorite things about my position is that I get to create custom lessons for each student or small group that are accessible, enjoyable, and maximally effective.
It is my pleasure to be part of the esteemed Seward Montessori staff. I enjoy hiking, canoeing, improv, traveling, and working with the students at Seward! I am an enthusiastic alumna of Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, and graduate of the University of Minnesota's master's program in Speech-Language Pathology. You are welcome to stop by my corner of room 107 at any time.
Here at Seward we are also lucky to have David Leussler, Speech SEA (Special Education Assistant). It is his fourteenth year as a Speech SEA here and he is a very valuable teammate who uses his fast-paced and good-humored style to engage students in learning.
Please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward for working with your family this year.
