Knowledge is power.
Information is liberating.
Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.

Dear Seward Families,

Thank you for choosing Seward Montessori for your child’s education! At this time of year I start to reflect on what we have accomplished as it relates to our mission: We educate all students to prepare them for purposeful lives as global citizens. We provide every student with the tools to become independent thinkers who contribute to our community.

Our Debate and Chess Teams have been highly successful in competitions, and our Lego Robotics Teams also advanced in their competition. Several History Day projects are advancing to the regional final. We have an amazing Girls on the Run Team, students who raised funds for starving people and animals in Somalia, and students who read hundreds and thousands of minutes during I Love to Read Month. Katharine’s English Language Arts classes read to our kindergarten students once a week (think Kodak moments!). Our 7th graders completed their community service day today—packing over 6,000 pounds of food at Feed My Starving Children, cleaning at Matthew’s Park, or packing 7,475 pounds of produce, pinto beans, and canned corn with the Food Group. Our 6th graders had a camping experience that built bonds and will give them a lifetime of great memories.

Not ONE of these experiences happens without amazing staff and parents who go above and beyond to organize and advocate for the activities and our students. I am incredibly grateful to all of you who are involved in the many activities (I couldn’t list all of them) that have a positive impact on Seward Montessori students and our learning community.

With Gratitude,

Tammy
