Dear Seward Families:
It’s with genuine appreciation for you and our staff that I look back on the 2014–15 school year. We have a diverse and vibrant learning community that continues to offer a variety of opportunities for those who choose to get involved. Thanks to many of our parents and staff for organizing and sustaining Girls Run, our bike to school program and Walking Wednesdays.
Seward students can participate in Debate, Chess, Lego Robotics and Math Challenge. Our after-school programming was better than ever. We had excellent attendance and students on a wait list for most of the year. Our parent teacher conferences were attended by about 95% of you and turnout for the book fair, open house, the band concert and student performances were terrific. Our annual plant sale was a big success. All of this does not take place without you and staff who care about making a difference in the lives of others and are willing to do the extra work to make it happen.
I am grateful to each of you for choosing Seward Montessori for your child(ren).
Building Update: Our new Children’s House wing will be completed for the 2015–16 school year. The 5th classroom space will be our temporary office. Door six will be our main entrance. Bus drop off and pick up remain the same. Parent drop off will take place on E. 22nd Street.
This summer every classroom will get new tile, carpet and paint. In addition, work will begin on our new kitchen, lunchroom, offices and entrance. It’s going to be a busy summer at Seward Montessori! Our school will be a construction-only site beginning Tuesday, June 9th at 12:00 p.m. Please be aware that no one can be on-site without permission and a hard hat.
