Girls in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (GEMS) and Guys in Science and Engineering (GISE) are after-school programs whose goal is for students to have measurable and significant gains in mathematics and science. Fall of 2016 students will be engaged in learning the engineering design cycle through robotics and First Lego League. This year’s robotic challenge is titled - ANIMAL ALLIES CHALLENGE.
This program is a rigorous after school program where teams of students build and program a Lego robot that performs a variety of challenges, research project, and participate in an exhibition tournament on Saturday, January 14, 20167located in Minneapolis. It is possible teams may participate in a tournament in November or December. Practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 2:00-4:00.
