I am very excited to be the Assistant Principal at Seward Montessori. Seward is a fantastic learning community that truly aspires to meet the needs of every child. The students, families, and community are the reason why we exist, and I feel fortunate to get to work here every day.
For the last two years I have worked at Seward as an Administrative Teacher on Special Assignment and Math Specialist. During this time I was able to work closely with Tammy on administrative responsibilities. Prior to working at Seward, I was an Instructional Leader at central office, supporting Seward and other schools in our area.
Before serving in leadership roles, I taught 4th grade for Chicago Public Schools and 5th grade for the Renton School District in Washington. As a teacher, I have always believed that all students can learn and hold a high bar for student achievement. My experience in the classroom allows me to support our teachers with instruction, classroom management, and data analysis.
My education started at the University of Iowa, where I earned my bachelors degree in English, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University, and an Educational Specialist, K-12 Administrative license from the University of St. Thomas. When I’m not busy in school, I am spending time with my son and husband, enjoying all the perks that Minneapolis has to offer.
I look forward to continue to work with all of the students, families, staff, and community members of Seward.
