Genre Studies Due Dates

Genre Studies!
The idea behind Genre Studies is to expose students to a variety of texts such as historical fiction, biographies, mysteries, fantasies, poetry, etc. Each year, Genre Studies involve students reading 18 books for this program: 9 in school and 9 independently at home. You will not have to assist your child with the in-school genre work, unless your child needs much more time than we have in class. Then I will send it home to finish. The 9 independent books need to be chosen by the student (either in our media center or at a public library, bookstore, etc.) and read at home. After reading the book, the student completes a book report, project or worksheet. The due dates for independent genres will be written into planners this week. Please help your child manage time at home for this yearlong project.
