Seward After School Youth Programs strive to provide high quality youth classes for students. Class instructors are trained in youth program quality standards to facilitate a safe and supportive environment that fosters youth empowerment, youth voice, and youth leadership. Class sizes are limited to 15 or fewer students. Snack and bussing are available. Sample activities include Cooking, Art Club, Global Traditions, Video Game Design, Choir, Knitting, Hula Hoops, Girls, Inc, Basketball and Leadership, Ymentors Literacy and Mentorship program, Jug Band, Rink Rats Hockey, Chess, and Bike Mechanics! Classes are open to 1st - 8th graders. We strive to keep classes affordable, and scholarships are available. Classes are first come, first serve so get forms in quickly! Girls in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (GEMS) and Guys in Science and Engineering (GISE) are after-school programs whose goal is for students to have measurable and significant gains in mathematics and science. Fall of 2014 students will be engaged in learning the engineering design cycle through robotics and First Lego League. This year’s robotic challenge is titled World Class Learning Unleashed. ALC is an after-school program available to 1st - 8th graders that provides children with additional math and/or reading interventions in order to support their individual academic growth. Snacks are available to those who attend. Academic is by invitation only.
*Bussing is available for any student that is eligible for bussing during the regular school day.
*It is possible to participate in both ALC and Community Education.
