Zoltan Kodaly was a respected Hungarian ethnomusicologist and composer. Together with Bela Bartok, he collected Hungarian folksongs. Kodaly's legacy to the world includes a large body of music for symphony orchestra, a strong belief in the artistic value of folk musics of the world and a process for developing musicianship based on singing folk songs. Kodaly inspired teaching develops musicianship through a sequential curriculum using our first instrument, the voice, and highest quality music materials including folk songs of many countries.
