The Learning Works program: highly-motivated sixth grade MPS students spend 2 summers, and one Saturday a month during the school year, taking courses taught by High School and College students interested in exploring the field of education.  The goal is to prepare the 6th-graders to enter rigorous high school programs (more info at http://www.blakeschool.org/atTheBlakeSchool/learningWorks/index.html).  The 37 students who were in Learning Works' first class are all graduating from High School this year, and they all have applied to 4-year colleges (72 different colleges). The application deadline was April 14, but parents of 5th-graders may want to keep this program in mind for next year.
