John Roper-Batker
I have been teaching middle school science at Seward Montessori for ten years. Before Seward, I taught science at Benjamin Banneker middle school for six years, and Carver and Scott Alternatives (an alternative high school) for three years. Science is too exciting and fun to end when students leave the classroom. I expect my students to see, experience and engage in science in their home, neighborhood, and world. I received a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Pacific Lutheran University, and a B.S. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Minnesota, but I have gained the biggest part of my education from a few thousand Minneapolis middle school students.
