This year students are sharing their musical learning, in what might be
called an informance, instead of performance. Rather than use many
classes to rehearse and polish a performance of songs, the students are
choosing songs, dances, & activities from the music classes to
share with the audience. We then have one or two more class periods
together to organize and prepare musical arrangements of the songs,
which include our work with classroom instruments.
students have chosen their favorites, each was originally used to
illustrate a musical concept, which will also be shared with the
audience. You can think of these programs as a musical snapshot of our
skills right now.
I hope you will attend when your child is part of the program, and enjoy the music the students are sharing!
Thank you. Barbara Rice (612-668-4950).
