My name is Kaye Ann DeBlieck, and this is my ninth year at Seward Montessori School.  I have been in the district since 1994, teaching grades from 1st - 4th.    I am from the state of Michigan, and enjoy visiting  my family and traveling in Northern Michigan.  The upper peninsula is amazing!  This year we stayed up by the Mackinac Bridge, enjoying some awesome weather and beautiful sights!

I married Bruce DeBlieck in 1999, and have two bonus kids Oliver (26) and Savannah (22).  In 2003, I had our daughter Emmalise who is in 8th grade this year, and turned 13 this summer.  She loves playing volleybal and basketballl.   She is loving being up on the new 3rd floor, and has strived to do her best in her studies.

We live in Northeast Minneapolis, and have two cats (Snuggles & Muffin) that we love and enjoy.   I enjoy cooking at home, reading, sewing, and traveling.

I completed my undergraduate degree in 1989 from Central Michigan University,  and then a teacher program from Humboldt State University in California.  I moved to Minneapolis and began teaching in 1994.  I went to St. Catherine University for Montessori training in Early Childhood, and received a M.A. in 2006, and later certified at the E1 level.   As a Minneapolis teacher, we are continually striving to improve our teaching and training.  This summer I was part of a Literacy Institute, and learned about fine tuning guided reading groups and  independent reading, as well as learning about language development for students who do not have English as a first language.
